Difficulties begin at the stage of creating a character. There are no levels in Mortal Online, instead of them – a bunch of different skills, they can be developed for a long time, but you can not learn everything. Because of this restriction, it is important from the very beginning to decide who your hero will be-artisan, warrior or thief. Race, origin, age, even growth – all this affects the characteristics of the character, but how exactly, the game is not indicated. So you have to choose at random and later pay for errors.
If in other online games you can choose only one race, then here – mix a salad of four. Mortal Online – game for harsh hardcore players. Here you can forget about things such as training missions, hints, an intuitive interface. After you choose one of a dozen starting cities, you will be abandoned to hell with straps, without even bothering to hint where to go and what to do next. In Ultima Online, at least gave initial tasks – there are no quests at all here. You will spend the first half hour of the game, trying to figure out how to resurrect: PK (Player Killers, players killers) will deal with you faster than you will have time to blink an eye, and there will be no one to intercede.
The revival process, like everything in the game, takes away a lot of time and nerves. Be spectacular and alive, you could come to terms with this. But Mortal Online is a good example of how a faceless mess on the excellent engine can be created on an excellent engine. Cities in the game do not look as wretched as open locations – in some settlements there were even designers. But since the game in the light years from readiness, NPC behave very strange. However, you will be happy even such a zombie: in some cities there is not a soul at all.
Circle 3: skills and craft
The main goal of any MMORPG is the development of the hero, and Mortal Online is no exception. Propagated skills mean that the fighter will run faster, it is better to wave a sword, more quickly beat off the attacks, can saddle the horse and extract rare resources – after meeting with the PK and the hellish buffalo, all this has become especially relevant for us. But find the coach and figure out how to talk to him (first you need to highlight it with a TAB button, then press R), it turned out to be not easier than catching a gazelle.
When Sensei finally has mercy, he offered us a stack of books with names like Tephra Lore, Grizzly Operation, Ecumenical Spells or Recurve Bow Mechanics. What these skills give, how much time is needed to study them, whether our character is needed at all, the silent NPC did not report. And after we bought a couple of volumes, giving honestly earned pennies, it turned out that it was impossible to read them without learning a number of other skills. When we tried to sell unnecessary waste paper, the coach pretended not to be familiar with us. I had to return to forest jungle and chase deer in order to get money for other books.
Three hours later, we returned to the NPC – Sensei, hearing the ringing of coins, was again glad to see us. One of the books purchased even managed to read, but it turned out that the reading process in Mortal Online is close to the real one – to learn the basic skill, you need to wait for about six hours!
A thousand points are allocated to each character for pumping, but they are barely enough to master one specialization. For example, a blacksmith pumped out of the way can not only fight, he is not even able to process all types of ore. At the same time, without crafting skills, you cannot get a decent sword – what is issued at the beginning, except that flies is driven away. It turns out a vicious circle.
The creation of weapons and armor is generally a separate song. To create a rusty sword, you will have to pay and master about ten skills. To get resources for him – even more. What kind of books are needed, it is not said anywhere, but one can be sure: to run after the forest animals, trying to knock out money for the purchase of folios, you will have to be pretty. And then get ready for endless gatherings of wood and ore. This “exciting” process looks like this: once every three seconds you need to press the icon and observe the clumsy animation from the first person. And so an hour after an hour, day after day, until the bags are filled to capacity and it is time to return to the city … where PK and thieves will immediately build you up to the thread.
Circle 4: PVP and theft
Mortal Online could be forgiven if the developers made an interesting PVP. After all, it is for his sake that hardcores dive into the sandboxes, leaving a measured life World of Warcraft. But the only phrase that spins in the language at the sight of a local PVP is Epic Fale Epic.
When a couple of years ago, the developers said that the game will only be in the first person, many perceived the announcement with enthusiasm – this means a more complete immersion in the game world. But they rejoiced early. Due to a limited review, terrible lags and brake animation, it is difficult to understand when the blow reaches the goal. The lounges are so slow that only the lazy will not evade them. With shooting, too, is not everything okay. To pick up the most primitive bow, you need to become strong, like Hercules. And if onions are made of ordinary wood, then you can only get into the target point blank.
In Mortal Online, as in the correct hardcore MMORPG, you can kill and rob players everywhere. The only relatively safe place is large cities where a guard comes to the rescue. But the authors did not think through the PK markers system, so sometimes even in cities there is a mess.
If you accidentally touch another player in the battle and he will die later, his death will be hanged on you. Moreover, this type can die over and over again, winding the murder counter until it turns you into PK. And then try only to stick into the city-someone will definitely call the guard. Washing off the shameful stigma will not work quickly, the easiest way is to remove the character. Because of this ridiculous mistake, even harmless crafts are not safe from obtaining PK status.
The system of theft completely unleashes the hands of the villains. Try to stop for a minute when a flock of pickpockets will be built right back and in a matter of seconds will take everything acquired by overwhelming work. The game does not warn about the fact that someone is fumbles in your pockets, and because of the first-person view, you do not always notice it. And even if you notice, you can’t just get a sword and teach a bit of the villain – he will immediately call the guard and remove things from the corpse.
Even transfer things to the bank is a big problem: while you will drag the resources, you will have time to clean you. Thiefs, of course, have fun, but for the rest – hellish headache. When playing Mortal Online, you can not move away from the keyboard, you can not turn your back to suspicious types, you can not relax.

You rarely find so many bugs and flaws in alpha versions of other Mmorpg-here they are served on pre-orders as a finished dish.
